Provaré Technology to Improve Wireless RF Engineering Processes

Alpharetta, GA, December 3, 2004 — Provaré Technology announced today that it has been asked by Cingular Wireless’s Georgia RF Engineering Department to analyze and improve their RF engineering process. All existing processes in the department will be reviewed, rewritten, and revised to make the most of the merger between Cingular Wireless and the old AT&T Wireless. The best engineering practices of both companies will be combined into a new, smoothly running framework allowing engineers coming from both companies to feel at home and to do their best work.

Mike Stephens, the Cingular RF Engineering Director, recognized that both companies have great contributions to make to the unified team and brought Provaré in to consult on the integration of the teams.

“The challenge today is how to combine the best, leave the rest, and get the entire team on board,” says Sandi Tepper, co-founder of Provaré Technology. “The engineering teams from both companies are made up of exceptionally talented engineers; we just have to get them all aligned and working as a unit. Provaré Technology will be helping them to discover that path and giving them solid tools and processes to remain on it.”

Provaré Technology has been asked to develop a new vision of how the RF Engineering team should work – both within the team itself, and as it interacts with its internal customers. While individual procedures within the RF team have been documented before, the lack of an overriding structure and purposeful implementation has limited their effectiveness.

The current contract is an umbrella-style contract with no specific end date. Due to the cyclical nature of process development, both companies expect this to be an on-going relationship that will bear fruit for many years to come.
